Mixed fortunes for Thetford in the Breckland League this week as a stomping 10-0 win at Shropham was followed the next evening with a 10-0 defeat at league leaders Connaught “A”. All four Thetford triples produced solid victories at Shropham with Peter Scarborough winning 18-5, Peter Harvey winning 21-13, Chloe Suffolk winning 19-12 and Mike Colledge winning 19-11. But just 24 hours later there was less celebrating for Thetford as Connaught “A” took maximum points on their heavy mats. Bob Oatway was their top scoring skip winning 27-4 while Mike Minshull won 18-13, Lee Fallows won 14-10 and Paul McDonald won 17-9. Mike Smail’s triple won 20-8 as Forncett won 8-2 on points at home to Hingham and they added another 8-2 home win against Connaught “B” with Rebecca Humphreys’ triple winning 30-5 to move second in the table. Carleton Rode sit third after an 8-2 home win against Harling Unicorns with Steve Hawkins, Michael Newby & Tony Oram winning 24-11.
