South Norfolk League
Defending South Norfolk League champions Hempnall were at home to Forncett who, despite losing, collected four valuable points in a 6-4 defeat. With both teams picking up two wins apiece the match points went to Hempnall with much of the credit going to Colin Stevenson, Gavin Gray & Charlie Archer who won their second half game by 15-7. Horsford continued their great form by beating visitors Saxlingham 10-0. Sue Fox, Vic Webster & David Crosby top scored with a 22-4 result while Lynn Frank, David Dewing & Roger Frank won 22-9. Harling pulled off an 8-2 away win at Connaught where Jill Hayman, Ron Marsh & Colin Hayman won 17-7.
City of Norwich League
City Of Norwich League leaders Horsford Heroes won 13-1 at Jarrolds to move twenty-four points clear at the top. The home side put up strong resistance in all four games making the leaders fight all the way. Chris Woodhouse’s triple won by just 7-6 in a very low scoring game while Roger Frank’s triple won by just 11-9. John Aggas’s triple won by 10-6 while home skip David Snodgrass held Vic Webster’s triple to a 10-10 draw. Second placed Thorpe Marriott beat Horsford Gold 12-2 with Jenny Walker, Richard Perkins & Andy George winning 22-4. In the weeks other match British Rail won 8-6 at First Bus.
Breckland League
Breckland League leaders Wymondham won 7-3 at Harling Unicorns where Mary Fisher, Andrew Jackson & Chris Mann won by 25-6 backed up by Billie Barker, David Chadwick & Jon Sparham with a 17-10 win. Harling collected three points with an 18-14 win by Rosie Beckford, June Kendall & Ian Beckford while Mike Tarrant’s Unicorns triple drew 15-15 with Melvyn Barker’s triple. Second placed Connaught “A” won 8-2 at home to Carleton Rode with Bob Oatway’s triple winning 17-8, Paul McDonald’s triple winning 14-9 and Simon Willies’ triple winning 11-10. Forncett won 8-2 at home to Shropham in the remaining Breckland League match played this week.
Bure League
Bure League action saw Halvergate win 10-0 at Horsford BC where Keith Cooke’s triple won 21-8 and Robbie Lamb’s triple won 18-10.
