Bure League newcomers Bob Carter completed a hard fought Bure league and cup double last night at Halvergate. Going into the second leg 14-10 ahead on points they restricted the home side to a 13-11 win which meant that Bob Carter won the Bure Cup Final 25-23 on aggregate. The home side started well with a win for Ryan Fox’s triple on mat one while Keith Cooke’s Halvergate triple drew 6-6 against Gary Best. After the second session was drawn Halvergate enjoyed two wins on the third session, courtesy of the Ryan Fox and Keith Cooke triples, which gave them a 19-17 aggregate lead. But Carter hit back with a vengeance winning four of the remaining six games to lift the cup as AJ Brown, Jason Woods & Jack Pye’s triples all recorded wins for Carter. The match went right down to the wire though with Gavin Gray, Melly Woods & Jack Pye’s 6-5 win against Ryan Fox proving vital in a game that went down to the last bowl.
