England Under 21's defeat Wales

Four talented young Norfolk stars featured strongly in the England Academy Under 21’s side that defeated Wales Under 21s at the weekend by 49-31 on points with a session to spare. Alfie Woods of Bob Carter, Sid Burton of Harling and sisters Kacy & Chloe Suffolk of Thetford did their county proud as they all played their part on an excellent day of bowls. The day did not start so well for the Suffolk sisters as they were involved in a “near miss” car incident on the way to the venue. But the girls composed themselves well to help earn some important points for the team. Alfie Woods may have been the smallest but he put in a mighty display of bowls. Sid Burton was steady and composed and secured the important points to get England over the line to secure victory. England Under 21s have now won this fixture eight times against Wales who have won the fixture seven times. Individual results for the Norfolk bowlers were as follows; Sid Burton - Fours 6-8, Triples 9-12, Pairs 13-7, Triples 10-5, Fours 10-11. Chloe Suffolk - Triples 10-8, Pairs 6-8, Triples 6-12, Fours 10-5. Kacy Suffolk - Triples 12-6, Pairs 6-8, Triples 10-10, Fours 11-3. Alfie Woods - Fours 9-4, Pairs 5-9, Triples 15-5. All four have a great future in the sport and the Norfolk clubs who have supported them can be proud of producing such talent.
