Norfolk Premier are through to the I.C.C semi-finals again after a superb final session sunk Cheshire Premier at Daventry IBC. Cheshire started strongly winning the opening session 6-2. Only Owen Cranston & Keith Cooke won for Norfolk with a 19-11 score-line with Gary Best losing his singles game 13-10, Neil Davidson losing 15-11 and Nigel Willard & Simon Willies losing 18-7. The second session saw Norfolk level the match with Elaine Willies, Debs Sparham & Jon Sparham winning 19-4, Jamie Forster, Ryan Fox, John Turner & David Lamb winning 17-4 and Donna Lamb, Robbie Lamb, Rob Howlett & Melly Woods winning 11-4 while Morgan Warnes’ triple lost 14-9. The third session proved to be much better for the singles and pairs as Neil Davidson won 15-12, Gary Best won 11-9 and Owen Cranston & Keith Cooke won 17-8 with just Simon Willies' pair losing. With Cheshire picking up the bonus points in both singles and pairs this left the score tied at 14-14 on points with just the least triples and fours session to play. A tight finish looked to be on the cards but it was not to be as Norfolk moved up a gear to sweep Cheshire aside winning on all four mats. David Lamb’s rink won 15-6, Melly Woods’ rink won 12-8, Jon Sparham’s triple won by 19-4 yet again and Jason Woods, Simon Warnes & Morgan Warnes won 13-11 leaving Norfolk celebrating a 26-14 points win. Norfolk return to Daventry again this Sunday to play Cornwall in the semi-finals in their quest to reach the final and the chance of winning the coveted title for the third time.
