Norfolk has been included in a new development programme launched by the Bowls Development Alliance. All NCSMBA Club Secretaries will be emailed a copy of the following communication which has been sent by James Scoins, ESMBA Development Director, to the County Associations involved. All NCSMBA Clubs are invited to send up to two representatives to attend a Launch Meeting at County Arts IBC on Wednesday 26th February if your club is interested in learning more. Dear Friends,
This year will see the Bowls Development Alliance launch a County development programme to support Counties with a more targeted approach, with one county in each geographic region selected based on several factors; including potential for growth, local support networks (for example Active Partnerships).
This programme will be formally launched in late February and March and will give Counties access to the BDAs services and support along with existing ESMBA support.
The BDA will be working not only with the ESMBA but Bowls England, the EIBA and British Crown Green Bowling Association as the four governing bodies seek to further Bowls development across England.
All participating counties (and their respective clubs) will receive:
Dedicated support from the BDA’s Club and Community Development Team from January to December 2025 to include:
Supporting clubs and volunteers across your county with Governance, Safeguarding, Recruitment, Funding
Promotional activity
Improving the connection between local/regional health, and sport networks to improve the visibility of bowls as an accessible sport for all
Coach Bowls will be on hand to work in these Counties to deliver Coaching and Safeguarding courses too.
The BDA will also be working alongside County Active Sports partnerships and other stakeholders
