Maximum points for Chris Willies new team

Watton Expendables have watched from the sidelines as the other new star studded team in the Bure League, Bob Carter, opened their campaign with three big wins. Finally the Expendables had their chance to show what they had to offer with their first ever league fixture at home to Horsford BC. The team put together by England international and former West Mids star Chris Willies did not disappoint as they collected all ten league points at the expense of visitors Horsford BC. But it will be noted that while Horsford BC were put to the sword at Bob Carter, losing by 95-19 on shots, their defeat at Watton was conservative in comparison where the shots total was 64-44 in favour of the home side. The two biggest scorelines were delivered by Andy Rawnsley, Kacy Suffolk & Chris Willies who won 19-10, and Elaine Willies, John Jeffery & Robin Amos who won by 18-12. Pix Hyam, Rob Howlett & team captain Jack Marshall won their game by 15-11 while Sheila Hook, Chloe Suffolk & Simon Willies got over the line by 12-11 to secure the maximum points win. An exciting Bure League season is in prospect with defending champions Halvergate facing their biggest challenge yet by the two new teams in the league both packed with England International and Norfolk County Squad bowlers. The loss of England international Jason Woods to Bob Carter will no doubt be a blow to David Lamb’s side but they will not give up their title easily.
