Horsford Heroes made it five wins in a row with an 8-6 away win at Horsford Blue this week. This ensures they remain the only unbeaten team so far this season in the City of Norwich League. But their lead at the top, previously ten points ahead of both Thorpe Marriott and Horsford Gold, was reduced to six points as both of the pursuing teams achieved 12-2 wins. Lynn Frank, Margaret Harman & John Aggas clinched the match points for Horsford Heroes at Horsford Blues venue as they racked up an impressive 19-6 win. Despite winning on the other three mats Horsford Blue failed to claw back enough shots to save the game. Tim Flack’s Horsford Blue triple edged over the line with an 11-10 win, Phil Mildon’s triple won by 10-9 while Janet Seaton, Ernie Mills & Dennis Seaton scored the home side’s best win with a 17-10 result. Thorpe Marriott scored a comfortable 12-2 home win against Windows, with Gavin Gray, Jack Gray & Tony Turner scoring a big 18-7 win, as they narrowed the gap between themselves and the league leaders. Robin Amos’ triple won 14-6 and Andy George’s triple added a 13-8 win for Marriott. Paul Brock’s Windows triple collected their teams only points of the night with a 13-8 win. Defending champions Horsford Gold remain in third place but level on points with Thorpe Marriott after winning 12-2 at home to Costessey. Barbara Ayres, Philip Cotton & Ray Ayres won 15-5 while John Bugg’s triple won 15-9 and Mick Dale’s triple won 13-7. Joy Townsend skipped the visitors only winning triple to an 18-9 win.
