The NCSMBA is saddened to hear that Geraldine Potter passed away peacefully on Saturday. Geraldine was a proud and active member of East Tuddenham SMBC, one of the first short mat bowls teams formed in Norfolk in the late 1980’s, and was Secretary of the Norfolk CSMBA from 1987 to 1990. Geraldine and her husband Ray, who passed away some time ago, were regular members of the East Tuddenham team for many years and part of a very successful club. Both were also members of the Norfolk Over 60’s Short Mat Squad and were part of the squad that travelled to Cyprus, Malta, Turkey, Ireland & The Isle of Skye as well as other destinations during the many years they were playing short mat bowls. Geraldine retired from short mat bowls some time ago but will be remembered with great fondness by all her friends in the short mat bowls world. Geraldine is pictured below in 2016 when she won the Bure Triples Championship title with her son Gerald Potter and Chris Mann, and also with the Potters Shield that Geraldine won the same year. The NCSMBA wish to express their condolences to Gerald and the family at this sad time.
