Wymondham go super sonic!

The abundance of talent in the Wymondham side has been apparent for several years now as they have dominated the Breckland League, but this week’s result demonstrated that they are simply on a different level to the rest of the league. Hingham were the latest team to leave the North Wymondham venue shell-shocked after the defending champions recorded the biggest win in the history of the league. Winning all four games in their home matches is now expected for Wymondham but the margin of this victory is almost beyond belief. The scores tell the story as John Jeffery, Laura Hawksworth & Jon Sparham won 55-1, Steve Easter, Jack Pye & AJ Brown won 37-3, Jack Marshall, Melvyn Barker & Debbie Sparham won 34-2 and Mary Fisher, Andrew Jackson & Chris Mann won by 26-3. And all this against a good Hingham team that included two current Norfolk County squad players and are more than likely to finish mid table. This result will not fill visting teams still to play at Wymondham this season with any confidence. Forncett won 8-2 at home to Harling Unicorns with Peter Lock’s triple winning 18-10 to take them into second place but they are already ten points adrift of table topping Wymondham. It’s been a very good start to the season for Shropham as they continue to improve. They produced two away wins beating Harling Griffins 8-2 and Connaught “B” by 6-4. Jim Delaney’s triple won 21-5 at Connaught while Philip Drake’s triple won 21-18 at Harling Griffins. After Carleton Rode’s home defeat against Wymondham they returned to winning ways with an 8-2 home win against Harling Griffins. Leading the way for Carleton Rode were Norfolk Over 60’s bowlers Gill Davidson, Russell Davidson & Trish Taylor with a big 36-4 win.
