Norfolk's finest head for Melton Mowbray

The ESMBA National Championship Finals kick off on Thursday with the National Singles Championships at a new venue in Melton Mowbray. Three of Norfolk’s four entries have a wealth of singles experience under their belts. Gary Best, Chris Mann & Neil Davidson have all played singles regularly for Norfolk Premier. Gary Best has had a superb first season in Norfolk after moving from Kent and finished the I.C.C season with a win average of 81%, the highest in the Norfolk Premier team. Neil Davidson earned his “singles specialist” nickname after enjoying huge success in Norfolk’s Singles Championships while Chris Mann proved himself a player for the big occasion when he lifted the European Open title in Belgium a while back. Bob Carter’s Jason Woods is Norfolk’s other singles qualifier and he will relish the opportunity of having a crack at the big prize. On Friday the National Pairs Championships are played with Nigel Willard & Jamie Forster, Owen Cranston & Chris Mann, Laura Hawksworth & Neil Davidson and Kerry Greenacre & Keith Cooke Norfolk’s qualifiers. The emphasis on Saturday turns to the National Fours Championships with Chris Mann & Neil Davidson playing their third straight day of competition. Norfolk’s entries consist of Kerry Greenacre, Neil Davidson, Gary Best & Keith Cooke as Norfolk 1, Debbie Sparham, Simon Warnes, Chris Mann & Jon Sparham as Norfolk 2, Nigel Willard, David Lamb, John Turner & Melvin Woods as Norfolk 3 and  Steve Bridge, Jason Woods, Jamie Forster & Simon Willies as Norfolk 4. The last day of Nationals action features the Triples Championships. Jason Woods, Jamie Forster & Simon Willies are Norfolk 1, Jack Marshall, Morgan Warnes & Jack Pye are Norfolk 2, Nigel Willard, John Turner & Melvin Woods are Norfolk 3 and Janet Pinchen, Trevor Pinchen & George Clarke are Norfolk 4.
