Matty Worden defeats Alex Kley to lift England Singles title

In a competitive and close final Matty Worden of Cheshire defeated Dorset legend Alex Kley to become the new England Singles Champion. The final was played in the now familiar attacking style favoured by the top bowlers with each player attempting to ditch the jack from the off. Worden beat North Yorkshire’s David Newsome in the semi-finals while Kley reached the final with a win against Devon’s Elliot James. Two Norfolk players reached the quarter-final stage. Halvergate’s Ryan Fox lost narrowly to Alex Kley by just 7-5 while Bob Carter’s Gary Best lost by just one shot to David Newsome. Wymondham’s Jack Pye reached the last 32 stage where he went down 9-7 against Essex and SMPT’s Craig Burgess.
