At the Norfolk CSMBA Management Meeting on Tuesday Gary Best was appointed as the new Assistant County Team Manager following the earlier resignation of Chris Willes. This coming Sunday sees Norfolk County Manager Jack Pye bring the new Norfolk County Squad together for the first time at Hingham for their Pre-Season Squad Day. The Committee also discussed the new fee of £100 per team for the 2025-2026 Inter-County Championships. Among other discussed items was the Committee’s long held position regarding the formation of the England Ladies Team which remained unchanged. The NCSMBA still believes that without the formation of an England Men’s Team as well, the ESMBA could well be in contravention of the Equality Act of 2010. Norfolk President Brian Saunders advised the Committee that it could be wrong, and possibly illegal, for the NCSMBA to support or participate in any match involving ladies only, or indeed men only. The Chairman Selwyn Goldsmith said that he would respond to recent correspondence from sources within the ESMBA regarding approaches made to the NCSMBA regarding possible fixtures against England teams on October 27th.
