Sunday saw seven of Norfolk’s young bowlers competing to represent Norfolk in the National Under 18’s Finals at Solihull in April 2023. East Harling’s Rueben Spurdens came out on top winning five of his six games and finishing with an impressive +40 shot difference in his first attempt at the competition. Thetford’s Kacy Suffolk also enjoyed an excellent day of bowls winning five of her six games as well and finished with +14 shots. Her sister Chloe Suffolk finished in third place with six points and +25 shots and Marley Bottrell of East Harling was fourth with six points and +24 shots. Sid Burton, Kylan Charlton & Charlie Aldridge all displayed good form as well that bodes well for the future of short mat bowls in Norfolk.
