Hempnall made short work of booking their place in the challenge cup semi finals after a clean sweep 10-0 half time lead put the tie beyond Connaught with Hempnall leading 22-8. Captain Paul Baker heaped praise on Owen Cranston who replaced Neil Davidson in the singles as he recorded an 11-5 win over Owen Secker while Baker himself convincingly beat Sylvia Parsons 16-3. The fours saw two close match's as Kerry Greenacre, Chris East, Lewis Cranston and Rob Cranston beat Diane Adcock, Mike Parsons, Derek Liles and Lee Fallows 6-4 and Colin Stevenson, Bernie Cudden, Mike Pearce and Roger Parker completed a first half whitwash for Hempnall as they edged out G. Benefer, Bill Adcock, Joe. Li-Rocchi and Richard Harrison 9-8. Connaught did however win the second half 8-2 as Lewis Cranston replaced Paul Baker in the singles but went down 12-6 to Owen Secker while Owen Cranston also lost 10-8 to Sylvia Parsons. Richard Harrison's four won 9-6 over Rob Cranston but the damage was already done by Hempnall as they join Wymondham and Thorpe Marriott in the semi finals. The remaining quarter final tie between Bob Carter and Halvergate is still yet to be played.
