Wymondham inflicted defeats on both teams challenging them for the Breckland League title. An 8-2 home win for Wymondham against Connaught “A” could prove vital in this season’s Breckland League title race. Hayley Stratton, Steve Easter & Jack Pye led the way with a massive 30-4 win against Mike Minshull’s triple while Chris Mann beat Sheila Bragg 22-7 and Debbie Sparham beat Lee Fallows 15-10. Bob Oatway’s triple stopped Wymondham from taking maximum points by beating David Chadwick, John Jeffrey & Jon Sparham 16-7. Earlier Wymondham had won 6-4 at third placed Carleton Rode where Roger Steele, Owen Cranston & Chris Mann had beaten John Jarvis’ triple 22-7 and Billie Barker, John Jeffrey & Jon Sparham had beaten Karl Newby’s triple 23-9. Wymondham followed those wins up with an 8-2 win, this time away to Forncett. Carleton Rode won 10-0 at Shropham where Graham Mobbs triple won 23-8. Thetford continue to impress as they recorded two away wins. Kieran Suffolk’s triple won 27-8 at Hingham where they won by 8-2 on points. At Banham they did even better by winning 10-0 on points. Peter Scarborough’s triple won by 26-7 as Thetford clocked up 74 shots against Banham’s 38. Harling Griffins won 8-2 at home to Connaught “B” with Betty Murphy, Jill Hayman & Ron Marsh winning 23-5 and Carol Newman, J Smith & George Cody winning 23-9. Hingham won 9-1 at home to Shropham with Pat Roache, Janet Higgs & John Higgs winning 21-7. Mike Tarrant’s triple won 33-4 as Harling Unicorns won 8-2 at home to Banham. Connaught “A” won their local derby away to Connaught “B” by 10-0 with Jim Squires, Paul McDonald & Mike Minshull winning by 25-5.
