Ryan Fox of Halvergate is the new ESMBA National Under 18’s Champion after beating Benny Bass of Devon 12-9 in the final. Ryan led by 10-6 after nine ends and kept his cool under pressure as Bass fought back to within a shot of Norfolk’s qualifier. But it was Ryan’s day as he made sure of victory on the last end by drawing in for a count of two shots with his third wood and when Benny Bass fired and missed Ryan had the satisfaction of winning without having to play his last bowl. In the semi-finals Ryan Fox beat Emilia Thompson 10-7 and in the quarter-finals beat Megan Dawson 9-7. In the group stages he had beaten Danial Agar 13-10 and Callum Goodman 13-4 but lost to Benny Bass by 10-6. Bass had reached the final with a thumping 15-1 win against Liam Lowery in the semi-finals and a 12-6 win against Ben Weeks in the quarter-finals.
