Halvergate travelled to Windows for the second leg of their Bure Cup tie holding a massive 21-3 points lead from the first leg. The first session saw them edge closer to the 4 points they needed to reach the semi-final stage as Anne Baker, Keith Baker & Keith Cooke beat Mick Boswell’s triple 6-1. Di Boswell’s triple ensured the session was shared though as her Windows triple beat David Lamb’s Halvergate triple 4-2. The second session saw Halvergate wrap up the tie as Mike Tate, Nigel Willard & Simon Warnes beat Keith Halford’s triple 8-4 while Jackie Smith, David Knights (pictured) & Jason Woods beat Andy Drummie’s triple 8-2. With Halvergate now guaranteed a semi-final place against either Hevingham or Horsford BC the teams decided to play just two more sessions before calling it a night. Three of those four games were won by Halvergate but Brenda Sizer, Avril Walker & Di Boswell of Windows finished the night unbeaten after a 6-5 win against Keith Cooke’s triple.
