It was a busy week for Connaught “A” in the Breckland League. They won 10-0 at home to Hingham with David Aldous, Richard Broad & Paul McDonald winning 28-6 but lost 7-3 at Forncett with home skip Becky Humphreys winning 17-6. Terry Newby’s Carleton Rode triple won 28-8 as the Rode won 8-2 at home to Thetford. Shropham won 10-0 at home to bottom of the table Connaught “B” with Michael Godbold, Philip Drake & Bob Townsend winning 20-8. Harling’s trip to Saxlingham Nethergate in the South Norfolk League proved fruitful as they came away with an 8-2 win. Linda Chilvers, June Kendall & Nigel Battley opened with a big 22-3 for Harling backed up with a 20-9 win by Mike Tarrant’s triple and a 17-9 win for Ian Beckford’s triple in the second half. Saxlingham Nethergate’s only win was provided by Steve Potter, Alex Thompson & Sheila Hook with a 13-9 win. Forncett consolidated their hold on second place in the table with a heavy 10-0 win at Mulbarton whose final day of the season proved to be a chastening experience. Forncett’s triples won by 33-4, 20-3, 21-5 & 21-7 as they racked up 95 shots against 19.
