There was another super turn-out for today’s fortnightly Norfolk Over 60’s Squad Day at Hingham Sports & Social Club. Norfolk Over 60’s Organiser Teresa Goldsmith, Membership Secretary of the NCSMBA, welcomed the bowlers who travel from all over Norfolk to enjoy an informal day of short mat bowls, teas, coffees & biscuits at a very reasonable cost of just £5 each. Bowlers draw out their names when booking in to determine which team they play with on the day. They then enjoy three games of nine ends in the morning with a break between each session for teas etc. They then have the option of staying on to play another game in the afternoon if they wish. All NCSMBA registered bowlers aged 60 or over are assured of a warm welcome and can just turn up on the day to take part. The day started with all bowlers observing a minute’s silence in memory of popular Friends of Essex Organiser Tony Ealham who died suddenly on Sunday.
