New insurance scheme announced by ESMBA

The ESMBA have sent the NCSMBA details of their new Insurance scheme. In line with a request to bring it to the attention of all our member clubs, those details are published below. In addition all Member Club Secretaries will also be emailed this communication by the NCSMBA Secretary Jenny Walker. ENGLISH SHORT MAT BOWLS ASSOCIATION

The ESMBA are pleased to announce that after extensive discussions with various companies a new improved insurance scheme for Club and County Insurance has been finalised.  We feel that this offers Affiliated Clubs and County Associations comprehensive insurance cover at an extremely competitive price.  The scheme has been agreed with Marsh Sports and is underwritten by Hiscox.

ESMBA New Insurance Scheme County and Club Cover

  • Public/Civil Liability £5,000,000
  • Directors & Officers £250,000
  • Employers Liability £10,000,000
  • Equipment Cover £25,000
  • Money Cover £500
  • Crisis Containment £25,000*
  • HR Academy (HRA)**

*      (costs incurred to limit or mitigate the impact of adverse or negative publicity of or media attention)

The cost to each county/club taking up this scheme including any fees is £75 per annum commencing 1st September 2025.

The requirement for clubs is that they have a minimum of 8 affiliated members (unless by prior agreement).

The Cover is a standard policy with no additions or amendments, ie The Policy Fits All.
