Dennis Seaton leads the way for Horsford Blue

In the City of Norwich League Horsford Blue finally had the chance to celebrate after tasting victory for the first time this season winning 12-2 at home to Jarrolds. With Janet Seaton, Ernie Mills & Dennis Seaton leading the way, with a superb 18-4 win against David Pearce, Lynn Couzins & Hazel Hart, Philip Mildon’s triple added a 9-8 win and Sally Bates’ triple won 12-10. Peter Smart, Roger Hart & David Higgins won 12-10 for Jarrolds against Keith Ruddock’s triple to deny the home side a complete whitewash. Horsford Heroes made it nine wins in a row winning 12-2 at home to Costessey. Second placed Thorpe Marriott won 14-0 at home to First Bus while Windows pulled off a 10-4 away win at British Rail. Breckland League giants Wymondham continued on their way to another inevitable league title with a 10-0 home win against Forncett in which Billie Barker, Jack Marshall & Chris Mann won their game by 39-0. Second placed Carleton Rode entertained third placed Connaught “A” and kept a firm hold on the runner-up spot with an 8-2 win with Russell Davidson’s triple winning 22-12. Other games saw Harling Griffins win 8-2 at home to Connaught “B”, Thetford beat Hingham 10-0 and Harling Unicorns winning 6-4 at Hingham. In the Bure League Watton Expendables completed a double over Horsford BC with an 8-2 away win at Horsford’s Sandy Lane venue. Robert Howlett, Chloe Suffolk & Simon Willies opened for the Expendables with a 15-5 win against Philip Mildon’s triple while Horsford’s Barbara Russell, Steve Beckett & Christine Walsrove replied with a 12-11 win against Chris Willies’ triple. In the second half the visitors wrapped up the points as Elaine Willies, John Jeffery & Robin Amos won 15-14 and Pix Hyam, Sid Burton & Jack Marshall won 19-5.
