After a season out of the Breckland League Connaught “B” made a return to league action at Hingham. The home side though proved too strong on this occasion for Connaught “B” to handle as Hingham opened their campaign with a 9-1 home victory. June Reynolds, Pam Chapman & John Chapman led the way with a 22-8 win while Cyril Cole, Peter Giddings & Joy Townsend weighed in with an 18-12 win. Graham Tweed’s triple had opened with a 14-12 win while Connaught’s Annabelle Sopp, Moira Eades & Joan Knox scored the visitors one point drawing 13-13 against Mike White’s Hingham triple. Defending Coastal League champions Woodbastwick Owls opened the season with a 14-4 home win in their local derby against Woodbastwick Eagles. The other two opening games involved the three Bradwell teams in the league. Bradwell Robins suffered two defeats losing 14-4 at home to Bradwell Dynamos and losing 10-8 at home to Bradwell Acorns.
