In the Breckland League Wymondham, already well past the finishing line as champions yet again, rattled off another huge win beating Harling Unicorns 10-0 on points and by 105-25 on shots. This made it fourteen wins from fourteen matches. Steve Easter, Trevor Brown & Debbie Sparham top scored with a 29-4 win. So far Wymondham have collected 136 points from a possible 140. At the other end of the table Shropham celebrated their first win of the season after fourteen straight defeats. They beat fourth placed Connaught 6-4 with Chris Bailey, Elaine Aberdeen & Andy Rawnsley beating Bob Oatway’s triple 28-12. Shropham are the newest and less experienced team in the league and this victory, against a team who once dominated this league season after season, is bound to give them satisfaction and hope for further improvement next season. Third placed Forncett drew 5-5 at home to Carleton Rode with Mike Smail, Jan Smail & Peter Lock scoring a vital 19-6 win for Forncett to avoid a home defeat. The final of the Breckland Five Pairs, between Wymondham & Carleton Rode, will take place at Forncett on Thursday 25th April and play starts at 7-15pm. In the City of Norwich League Costessey lost three out of the four games at Jarrolds but emerged with an 8-6 away win after Pam Chapman, Will Townsend & John Chapman recorded a big 21-4 win to claim the six match points. The final score on shots was 45-40 to Costessey after the home side won their games by 10-9, 14-8 & 12-7. First Bus won 10-4 at Horsford Blue where Ken Holmes, David Quadling & Bob Oatway won 14-4 and Betty Cox, Chris Brooks & Steve Hall won 15-6. South Norfolk League action saw Horsford win 7-3 at home to Hingham with Derek Gaskin, David Dewing & Vic Webster returning a 19-8 scoreline against Joy Townsend’s triple. East Harling won 8-2 at Saxlingham where June Kendall, Ian Hartley & Mike Tarrant won 18-8 and Rosie Beckford, John Davis & Ian Beckford won 22-5. In the Winter Afternoon League Diss won 6-4 at home to Harling after David Kerslake, Russell Davidson & Terry Newby won 16-9 in the first half and Gill Davidson, Tony Oram & Russell Davidson won 13-4 in the second half. Shropham Red scored an important 9-1 home win against Shropham Green with wins for Red skips Richard Broad, Andy Rawnsley & Richard Stevens.
