The first of the Bure finals this week saw the pairs take place at Kirby Bedon on Monday which saw defending champions Morgan Warnes and Keith Cooke of Halvergate reach the final once again but were up against the experienced pairing of John Turner and Melvin Woods of East Tuddenham. The first three ends of the final were tight with only singles being picked up which saw the Tuddenham pair lead 2-1. End four saw a breakthrough in the scoring with John and Melvin combining well to pick up three shots to lead 5-1. On the fifth end a fortunate deflection for Melvin gives Tuddenham shot to open up a 6-1 lead with just three ends remaining. With the pressure on the defending champs Morgan replied for Halvergate as they held two with the skips to bowl, another glance of a short bowl gives Melvin shot but Keith's last bowl provides just one shot as they trailed 2-6. Melvin was again causing problems for the Halvergate pairing as he drew shot bowl again and depsite Keith's best efforts could not prevent the Tuddenham duo collecting a brace to lead 8-2 with one end remaining. The final end saw Tuddennham only needing to consolidate as they knew Halvergate needed to collect a full house to force an extra end and with this in mind restricted Halvergate to a brace, with the final score 8-4 to John Turner and Melvin Woods of East Tuddenham.
