At the Tens League AGM, held this week at Hevingham, it was decided to suspend operation of the league for the coming season due to just Halvergate & Bob Carter wishing to take part. Efforts will be made to interest other clubs in relaunching the league for the 2023/24 season. The league was formed in 1998 and at its height consisted of ten teams. The first winners were Kirby Bedon with Bob Carter as runners-up and such was the competition that four different clubs won the title over the first five years. Kirby Bedon won in 1998/99 & 2000/01, Bob Carter in 1999/2000, Coltishall in 2001/02 & Hevingham in 2002/03. In recent years Halvergate, Bob Carter & Hempnall have dominated the league. The format, with only overall shots determining the result, proved popular with many leading bowlers but failed to find favour with some used to individual mat scores earning points. The result of the meeting is a disappointment for Bob Carter who are not members of any other NCSMBA league at present.
