Norfolk County Team Manager Jack Pye has announced his squad for the 2022/23 I.C.C season and it signals a return to the Norfolk squad for several star names from the past. When Jack Pye was appointed to the post by the NCSMBA Management Committee it raised the intriguing prospect of Pye persuading some of his highly rated Wymondham SMBC colleagues to pull on the Norfolk shirt again after a break from county action and so it has proved to be. The returning Wymondham players include the talented Wymondham trio of Chris Mann, Debbie Sparham and Jon Sparham, three bowlers who were part of the team that won the I.C.C Premier title for Norfolk for the first time in twenty years under then manager Selwyn Goldsmith in 2016. Another key player returning to represent Norfolk is Trevor Brown who twice won the National Singles championship when representing Oxfordshire. With several single specialists now in the squad it will be very interesting indeed to see the team sheet for the opening match of the season away to Essex on the 30th October. Jack Pye himself, as well as Trevor Brown, Gary Best, Neil Davidson & Chris Mann, are bowlers who will be seen by many as being in contention to fill the coveted singles spots. With this wealth of talent now at his disposal Jack Pye can begin the planning of his 2022/23 campaign with confidence sky high. The names of the full Norfolk Squad can be found on the County Team page of the Norfolk website. The new squad will come together for the first time at the Pre-Season Squad Day which is scheduled to take place at Hingham on Sunday 23rd October.
