The England Squad have been announced by Manager Stephen McAlister for the 2022/23 season and includes five Norfolk registered bowlers. Chris Willies and Simon Willies of East Tuddenham, Gary Best and Jason Woods of Bob Carter and Jack Pye of Wymondham have all been named in the squad. The England Squad named is slightly smaller than normal due to some players lost due to a change in the rules. Bowlers can still earn themselves a place in the England World Cup team by winning one of the four ESMBA Open Competitions taking place around the country in the coming months and entry forms can be found on the ESMBA website under “Open Competitions.” The Open Fours will take place at March IBC in Cambridgeshire on 17th September where the entry fee has been set at £40 per rink. The Open Pairs will be played in Maidstone on 3rd September, £20 per pair, and the Open Triples will be played in Dorset on 14th January 2023 with an entry fee of £30 per triple. The Open Singles will take place at Solihull on 1st October but organiser Robin Armstrong has announced that this event has already sold out. All events offer cash prizes.
