The NCSMBA Management Committee has voted to scrap its County Points Table system with immediate effect. The system was introduced many years ago which saw bowlers gaining points in the Norfolk County Championships/National Qualifier events dependent on how far they progressed in each competition. Originally the top 30, latterly the top 15, were then guaranteed to receive an invitation into the County Squad for the following season. The previous system, with reigning Norfolk County Champions receiving an invite into the Squad for the following season, has now been reintroduced. The committee decided that the points system was no longer fit for purpose with fewer bowlers apparently putting themselves forward for county team bowls and diminishing numbers entering the County Championships and National Qualifiers.
