The NCSMBA is saddened to learn of the death of Les Harman of Woodbastwick who died today at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. With his wife Margaret he reached the semi-finals of the ESMBA National Pairs in 1997/98 and was a runner-up in the ESMBA National Fours playing with East Tuddenham’s Chrissie Turner, Gerald Potter and John Turner in 2003/04. Les became Norfolk County Pairs champion in 1991/92 with Margaret and won the Norfolk Mixed Fours title in 2006/07 playing with Margaret and East Tuddenham’s Chrissie and John Turner. He achieved huge success as a key player in the now defunct Coltishall team that won the Wensum League title five times in six years, the Bure League title five times between 1996 and 2012, and the Tens League title, the Norwich Cup and the Norfolk County Cup three times each. With Les in their team they also won the Bure Cup on five occasions. He is also a past Chairman of the Wensum League. The NCSMBA would like to express their sincere condolences to Margaret and the family. The funeral will take place at St Faiths on Thursday 27th January at 11am, smart and casual attire.
