Wymondham will take a massive 14-2 points lead into the second leg at Halvergate after making home advantage count. But the truth is the result could have been much closer as all four pairs games went down to the very last bowl, but all games went Wymondham’s way. Owen Cranston & Chris Mann beat Josh Baxter & David Lamb 7-5 and Kerry Greenacre & Keith Cooke by 9-8 while John Jeffery & John Sparham won their pairs games by 6-5 & 8-6. In the triples Wymondham’s Hayley Osbourne, Melvyn Barker & Jack Pye won by 10-6 & 18-7 while Roger Steele, Steve Easter & Debbie Sparham won their opening game by 16-4 but lost their second by 8-6 against Jackie Smith, Robin Amos & Ryan Fox, the only Halvergate win of the night. A big task is ahead for Halvergate if they are to overturn this 14-2 deficit on points, 80-49 on shots, in the return leg next Tuesday.
Two wins for Wymondham's John Jeffery
