The away leg of Norfolk Over 60’s annual challenge match against Derek Barley’s Select took place at Carlton Colville near Lowestoft. The home side enjoyed an excellent first session winning all four games as Norfolk struggled to come to terms with the difficult mats. But after the second session the score was level as Norfolk swept the board. A drawn third session left the teams level at 12-12 but three wins in the fourth session saw Norfolk take the lead for the first time. The fifth session was shared before Norfolk finished well with three wins in the final session to record a 28-20 points victory, 199-171 on shots. As always Derek Barley and his players were welcoming hosts in a match that is always played in a friendly but competitive manner and a super lunch was provided and enjoyed by all.
