The NCSMBA is saddened to learn that Roger Parker of Hempnall Bowls Club passed away on Saturday 15th February. A message from Paul Baker of Hempnall BC said that Roger “did an enormous amount for Hempnall BC past and present and will be greatly missed.” For many who have played our sport since the early days Roger was regarded as a giant figure at Hempnall and was an enormously talented bowler. Roger played for Norfolk Premier for several years and at one time was a regular singles player for the county at I.C.C level. Roger won the Norfolk County Singles Championship in 2000/2001 and the same year reached the quarter-finals of the National Singles Championships at Kettering. He also reached the quarter-final stage of the National Singles in 1998/99. The NCSMBA would like to send their sincere condolences to Roger’s wife and family at this sad time.
