Norfolk Over 60’s entertained Northants Seniors in the last match of the season with the visitors protecting a four point lead at the top of the table at the start of play. Norfolk were hoping to pull the points back in the first half but found Northants a tough nut to crack. Four Norfolk triples won in the first half but that was cancelled out by four Northants wins. For Norfolk the successful triples in the first half were Joan Costello, Geoff Payne & John Jarvis with a 21-4 win, Dave Quadling, David Blundell & Mike Boswell with a 20-6 win, Kerry Greenacre, Mike Greenacre & Selwyn Goldsmith with a 23-4 win and Di Quadling, Peter Fox & Mel Barker who won 10-7. Norfolk knew that they needed to win at least five of the eight games in the second half if they were to retain the title and set about their task with gusto. One win followed after another as Norfolk moved up a gear or two to win right across the board on all eight mats for a 26-8 points victory to finish top of the table once again.
