Norfolk Premier are through to the I.C.C Final after another great comeback saw them defeat Cornwall Premier 22-18 in Daventry with Owen Cranston & Keith Cooke in the pairs, and Elaine Willies, Debbie Sparham & Jon Sparham in the triples, leading the way. Only Owen Cranston & Keith Cooke won for Norfolk in the opening session recording a solid 18-11 win. Jason Woods, in for Gary Best who was unavailable, lost 21-10 while Neil Davidson went down 13-7. In the remaining game the pairing of Jamie Forster & Simon Willies lost by 15-8. This left Norfolk trailing 6-2 going into the second session. This session was shared as Elaine Willies, Debs Sparham & Jon Sparham won 16-7 in the triples while Donna Lamb, Robbie Lamb, Rob Howlett & Melly Woods won 11-8 in the rinks. Jack Marshall, Simon Warnes & Morgan Warnes lost 16-11 and Karl Newby, Ryan Fox, John Turner & David Lamb lost by 9-4. The third session saw Norfolk hit back as Neil Davidson won 19-7, Jamie Forster & Simon Willies won 16-8 and Cranston & Cooke won again by 14-9 while Jason Woods lost by 15-11. This left the score tied at 14-14 going into the final session as Norfolk had collected the pairs bonus points and Cornwall the singles bonus points. Norfolk’s experience then showed as Jon Sparham’s triple produced a superb 24-5 win and Jack Marshall, Simon Warnes & Morgan Warnes won by one shot leaving Norfolk collecting the triples bonus points. In the fours Karl Newby, Ryan Fox, John Turner & David Lamb won 9-6 while Melly Woods’ rink lost 15-11 but that was enough to leave Norfolk celebrating an excellent win. In the other semi-final the defending champions West Mids beat Dorset with a session to spare and will face Norfolk at Daventry on 17th March.
