Ryan Fox of Halvergate continues to impress reaching the semi-finals of the National Under 18’s Championships played at Tamworth. After beating Nathan Caines of West Mids 11-10 in the quarter-finals he lost to the eventual winner Alex Kley of Dorset. Ryan put in some excellent performances for Norfolk “A” this season, as well as for his club side in the Bure & Tens Leagues, and at such a young age can only get better and better. This year saw the first ever National Over 55’s Pairs Championships played, also at Tamworth, where Thorpe Marriott’s Jenny Walker & John Jarvis reached the quarter-finals where they lost to the eventual winners Paul Reed & John Pye of Essex. In their previous game they beat Julie Hawkins & Alec Martin of East Sussex 10-3.  Hevingham’s Teresa & Selwyn Goldsmith failed to qualify from their group with a one shot defeat in their opening game proving costly.
