The British Isles Championships 2017 were hosted by England this season at Bromsgrove IBC but once again Ireland dominated the team events winning both the Premier & “A” Team titles. Gary Best of Bob Carter was selected for the Premier team, after some stunning performances for Norfolk in the I.C.C, and played number three in Lee Toleman’s rink. Jamie Forster of Bob Carter and David Lamb of Halvergate represented England in the “A” Team with Forster number two in Peter Hore’s rink and Lamb number two in Ant Fautley’s rink. Ireland Premier won the main event with 12 points and +134 shots with Wales Premier in second place with 6 points and +14 shots. England finished third with 6 points and +2 shots while Scotland were once again out of their depth finishing last with 0 points and minus 150 shots. In the “A” Team section Ireland won with 12 points and +193 shots but England “A” claimed the runner-up spot with 8 points and +105 shots. Wales were third with 4 points and minus 73 shots while Scotland were again fourth with 0 points and a minus shot difference of 225. In the individual events North Yorkshire’s young pairing of Danny Langdon & Ben Render won the Premier Pairs title for England while runners-up trophies were collected for England in both the triples and fours events by Matt Dillon, Barry Hedges & Adam Sultana and Simon White, Keith Lackford, Stephen Proctor & Martin Walker.
