The Coastal Cup campaign kicked off with two wins for Bradwell Dynamos. An 18-0 thrashing of Bradwell Robins in their local derby was followed by a solid 12-6 home win against Woodbastwick Eagles. Bradwell Robins also suffered a heavy 16-2 defeat at Martham which does not bode well for the rest of the Robin’s season. Hemsby Harvesters have also suffered a poor start going down 16-2 at Woodbastwick Eagles and losing 12-6 in their local derby at Hemsby Beachcombers. Woodbastwick Owls opened their Coastal Cup season with a 13-5 win at Martham. In the Tens League Connaught are still without a point after suffering a maximum 4-0 defeat at Hempnall. The home side coasted into a big first half lead as Roger Parker & Neil Davidson beat Diana Adcock & Sylvia Parsons 24-9 in the pairs and Kerry Greenacre, Owen Cranston & Rob Cranston neat Joe LiRocchi’s triple 20-7. The second half games were closer but both went Hempnall’s way. Stout resistance was put up by D Quadling & Bill Adcock but Hempnall’s Lewis Cranston & Paul Baker emerged with a 19-16 win while Colin Stevenson, Joan Cann & Charlie Archer beat Mike Minshull’s triple 16-10.
