Winning three out of the four first half games set Connaught up for a Norwich Cup Quarter-Final victory against Horsford Heroes. The triples gave Connaught a perfect start with Mike Parsons, Derek Liles & Sheila Bragg beating Mick Dale’s triple 15-1 while Bill Adcock, Joe LiRocchi & Richard Harrison beat Peter Fox’s triple 7-3. Diana Adcock & Sylvia Parsons added a 7-5 win against Carol & John Aggas while Horsford got their first win off the night courtesy of Sue Fox & Roger Frank who beat Di Quadling & Lee Fallows 7-4. The second triples session was drawn with Sheila Bragg’s threesome winning their second game of the night by 9-3 against Peter Fox while Horsford’s Richard Hart, Richard Dix & Mick Dale beat Richard Harrison’s triple 6-5. Going into the final session of pairs Connaught led 8-4 on points and 47-25 on shots. This left Horsford Heroes with the difficult task of needing to win both games and make up a 22 shot deficit. This in reality was not going to happen, Connaught won on both mats to complete a 12-4 home win as Di Quadling & Lee Fallows beat Carol & John Aggas 9-3 and Diana Adcock & Sylvia Parsons beat Sue Fox & Roger Frank 9-6.
