Following on from a visit a couple months ago Chris Mann returned to Thetford this week to see how members were progressing and offering help and advise to those who wanted it. Pauline Barsby who has been influential in the creation of the club is pleased to now have 29 members who bowl regularly every Wednesday and also play afternoon league matches against Diss, Harling, Watton plus others. Pauline was please to comment that their most recent league match they managed a very credible draw against Watton. Their venue at Charles Burrell centre, Thetford is capable of holding at least four mats with ease with adequate seating and storage. The hard floor and ex county mats they use give them good practice on what are failry fast mats. Since Mann's last visit, the club now has another young member recently visit, which now means the club has two members under the age of eighteen, who also looks keen and on first impressions both have promising futures.
Members of Thetford SMBC raising their cups in apprecition of Harling Recreation Bowls Club have given them a lot of support.
