British Rail on track as they beat Horsford Blue

British Rail entertained Horsford Blue in a clash between the only two City of Norwich League teams without a win this season. Both teams would have been eager to get points on the board and a tight first half finished with both sides winning a game apiece. Horsford’s Colin Mudd, Ruth Ruddock & Keith Ruddock produced a 14-9 win for the visitors but Peter Wright, Leslie Webber & Martin Douglas replied with a 10-8 win leaving Horsford Blue with a narrow three shot lead at the interval. In the second half British Rail took control of the match to record their first win of the campaign as Peter Wright, Mark Baker & Caroline Banham won 14-5 and Liz Mason, Dawn Banham & Mark Randell won by 18-10 to earn their side a 12-2 points win that left Horsford Blue at the foot of the table trailing British Rail by ten points. At the other end of the table Horsford Heroes entertained Thorpe Marriott in a top of the table clash that saw them record a valuable 12-2 home win, their sixth straight victory. Thorpe Marriott though remain firmly in the title race after a crushing 14-0 home win against Jarrolds. Taverham, a side in good form so far, also saw off the challenge of Jarrolds as they achieved a solid 12-2 home win. Taverham’s visit to defending champions Horsford Gold ended in defeat as the home side when 11-3. Horsford Gold will be less pleased after suffering a 12-2 defeat at Windows that leaves them in third place in the table. In the remaining match this week First Bus won 11-3 at Costessey in their mid table clash.
