Lesley Crowe and Steve Hall are City of Norwich League Pairs Champions after going through the evening unbeaten to lift the title ahead of Thorpe Marriott’s Jenny Walker and Tony Turner. In their opening game Crowe & Hall were held to a 5-5 draw by Windows’ pair Di Boswell & Andy Drummee while Jenny Walker & Tony Turner displayed their title credentials with a 6-3 win against Ken Reynolds & Richard McPhee of Horsford Blue. Walker & Turner followed that up with a convincing 11-5 win against Costessey’s Malcolm Southgate & Roger Steele to put themselves in the driving seat. But their challenge for the title took a blow in the third session as they went down 5-3 to the Windows pairing while Crowe & Hall beat Costessey 5-2. A 7-6 win against Horsford Blue for First Bus left them on five points with Thorpe Marriott on four points when they went into the final session against each other. That was when Lesley Crowe & Steve Hall moved up a gear with a 9-1 win to clinch the title.
