It was a top v bottom clash in the Winter Afternoon League as leaders Diss visited Shropham Green. With Diss previously unbeaten, and Shropham yet to win a match, an away win was obviously expected but that was not the way it turned out. Shropham Green won two of the games, and drew a third, while Diss only managed one win as the form book was torn up. Shropham’s Di Quadling, Kevin Tingey & Jim Delaney opened with a 13-8 win against Graham Mobbs’ triple while Shirley Lawrence, Jim Taylor & David Quadling drew 10-10 with Terry Newby’s Diss triple. Another game went Shropham’s way as Philip Drake, Jim Delaney & Mike Godbold beat Russell Davidson’s triple 14-7 while Graham Atter’s triple collected the only Diss win by 14-11. The result leaves Diss just 5 points ahead of second placed Thetford who have a game in hand on the leaders.
