The first day of the SMPT weekend’s events at the Falcon Bowling and Social Club saw the all Norfolk rink of Jack Pye, AJ Brown, Chris Mann & Neil Davidson reach the semi-finals of the SMPT Bowls is Bowls World Fours Masters. They were narrowly defeated 8-7 by John Lax, Eroll Morina, Dick Almen & James Trott. In the other semi-final the all Irish rink of Pauline Beattie, Joe Beattie, Gary Moore & Mark Beattie beat Sibe Laureys, Jonas Hager, Alex Kley & Dimitri Payne 10-6. In the final the Irish four beat James Trott’s rink by 13-3. The SMPT Bowls is Bowls World Pairs Masters will be played all day on Sunday with Steve Buckett & Ben Pay defending the title. Norfolk pairs taking part are Jack Pye & AJ Brown of Wymondham and David Blundell of Wortwell & Keith Cooke of Halvergate. Neil Davidson of Hempnall is playing with Mo Binstead of Essex while Chris Willies of East Tuddenham is playing with Hampshire’s Jason McLean.
