Taverham have defeated Windows 10-6 on aggregate to reach the City Shield Final. In the first leg played at Windows the Taverham side recorded a 6-2 away win on points, a huge improvement on the 14-0 defeat they suffered there early in the City League season. This continued their improved late season form that has seen Taverham win 11-3 at top three side Costessey and beat British Rail 12-2. Harold Barnes, Nigel James & Jane James led the way with an 11-4 win against Andy Drummee’s triple while Sheila Sawyer, Jean Young & Christine Pitcher won by 14-9 and Trevor Winter, David Riches & Carol Bullard won by 11-8. The only winning Windows triple was Diane Halford, John Wade & Paul Brock who won by 15-10. The second leg at Taverham ended in a 4-4 draw which was enough to see Taverham through to the final at Jarrolds on the 27th April where they will face a huge task against City League giants Horsford Gold who will be looking to complete a league and cup double.
