Horsford visited Hempnall for their top of the table clash with hopes of a win to keep their title dreams alive, but it was not to be as Hempnall wrapped up another South Norfolk League championship title with an 8-2 home win. Horsford knew that they had to record a good win if they were to delay Hempnall’s title celebrations and the sides were still level at the break with one win apiece. Hempnall’s Bernie Cudden, Owen Cranston & Neil Davidson enjoyed a comfortable 19-9 win against Roger Frank’s but Lyn Chadwick, Sue Fox & David Crosby hit back for the visitors beating Jack Gray, David Blundell & Keith Cooke 17-11. The second half though saw Hempnall clinch the title with wins on both mats as Paul Baker’s triple beat Margaret Harman’s triple 14-10 and Charlie Archer’s triple beat Vic Webster 18-8.
