Despite one of the lowest years ever for entries into the Norfolk County Championships/National Championship Qualifiers Norfolk have received a total of 22 places in the Nationals. This probably indicates that Norfolk were not the only ESMBA affiliated county to struggle for entry numbers this season. Norfolk received a maximum of four entries in the National Singles, National Pairs, National Over 55’s and National Under 18’s events. In the triples Norfolk were awarded 3 entry places, 2 places in the Fours and one place in the Mixed Fours. Only Norfolk & Oxfordshire received 4 places in the Under 18’s. North Yorkshire received the top number of total places with 26 while Dorset’s total of 25 is the next highest. Essex, Devon, Hampshire & Oxfordshire all received 24 places each. Suffolk received 17 places while our only other neighbouring county Cambridgeshire received just 5 places missing out on entries in the Fours, Mixed Fours & Under 18’s. Avon have just one entry, a place in the Mixed Fours, while Shropshire have just two entries which are both in the Fours.
