The NCSMBA are sad to hear of the death of Val Hester who played for Harling. Whilst going through a minor procedure at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital Val passed away. Although Val had been very poorly for quite some time this came as a great shock. George Hume of the Harling Bowls Club said that “Val has been a staunch supporter and advocate of the club for many years as well as being the club secretary. She will be sadly missed by many around the bowling community both near and far.” Val was always a keen participant in the Potters Cup short mat bowls break with her Harling friends. Val will also be remembered for her involvement in the cycling world with her late husband Bill. Val has been described as a tireless worker for the cycling fraternity and a stalwart of the cycling scene and that anyone involved with Essex cycling, and in particular the halcyon days of the Leo RT, will never forget her.
Val Hester - Rest in Peace
