Wymondham are through to the semi-finals of the Norwich Cup after a 10-6 away win at Thorpe Marriott. Debbie Sparham and Jack Pye scored two vital pairs wins beating Janet Pinchen and Derek Sheldrake 7-5 in the first half and then clinched victory for Wymondham with a final session 17-2 win against Sylvia and Tony Turner. Roger Steele, Jack Marshall & Chris Mann also collected maximum points beating John Jarvis’ triple 5-4 in the first session and then beating Kath Frost’s triple 13-3 in the third session. Wymondham started as firm favourites but Thorpe Marriott fought throughout and the outcome remained uncertain until Debbie Sparham & Jack Pye produced their superb win to shatter Thorpe Marriott’s hopes of an upset.
