Norfolk Over 60’s began their Eastern England League season with an excellent 23-11 away win against Cambridgeshire at March Indoor Bowls Club scoring 178 shots against 158. Three Norfolk triples took maximum points with Billie Barker, Geoff Payne & John Jarvis leading the way with wins of 15-4 & 13-4. Wendy Tweed, Graham Tweed & Jane James won their games by 16-9 & 11-9 while Will Townsend, Peter Fox & Terry Newby won their games by 16-10 & 10-9. Norfolk triples skipped by Lesley Crowe, Simon Willies, Mike Boswell & Colin Coman all won a game apiece. Northamptonshire are defending champions but this bright start for Norfolk will boost their hopes of reclaiming the title this season.
